Mama Gooch's Dressing

Pan of corn bread
5 or so pieces of white bread
1/2 cup celery
1/2 cup onion
egg
turkey or chicken broth
sage
poultry seasoning

Prepare cornbread. Crumble into casserole dish...if you have the green dish, use that one. Leave it chunky. Tear bread slices. After sauteing celery and onion in butter, add to cornbread mixture. Add one egg. Add broth. Mix. Sprinke sage and poultry seasoning over entire top of dish.....I never measure....Mama Gooch didn't, so I don't.....Do not scrimp on the broth. I think it keeps it from drying out. Bake 350 degrees til hot and delicious...

Just a side note...My mother used to say that I cooked just like Mama Gooch because I messed up every pan in the kitchen when I cook....

So, to prove my point here is my kitchen as I was preparing the dressing....

As I told my daughter-in-law, Shannon about this, she said, "So, that is where Brian gets it"!!!

Pepper Steak

Pepper Steak

1 Round Steak, tenderized
flour, olive oil
green pepper, sliced into strips
I can diced tomatoes
2 Tbls cornstarch
2 Tbls soy sauce
1/2 cup water

Cut round steak into strips. Dredge in flour, salt and pepper. Brown in olive oil.
Add green pepper and tomatoes. Simmer for oh say 15 minutes.
In a little bowl mix cornstarch, soy sauce and water. Add to pepper steak. Allow sauce to thicken.
Pour over rice...or could use pasta.
